Client profile:
Our client is single, has one dependent and lives in council accommodation. The client is in receipt of Universal Credit, Council Tax Support and Child Benefit.
The client approached the Harlow Community Hub for support and spoke to the Citizens Advice Community Hub Adviser.
Why client needs advice: The client is on a low income and is struggling financially with the rise in household costs and bills. The client stated she was in need of a new fridge freezer. The client has household debts which she already has payment plans set up for, however the client is struggling with the repayment amounts. The client also needs energy advice
What we have done to help the client: Initially the client had been refused an application to ELF (Essential Living Fund) for a fridge freezer, so our Adviser completed an application to the Harlow Community Fund which was successful.
Citizens Advice Harlow also provided the client with income maximisation advice and offered the client an appointment for full money advice with our Money Team.
An appointment was also made with our Energy Team for full energy advice.

Client has been issued a new fridge freezer from the Community Fund.
Client has been offered Debt and Energy Advice appointments with our Specialist Adviser.
