Reason why client needs advice: 

Client was struggling financially and needed budgeting advice.

What we have done to help the client:

Our adviser looked at ways of maximisation of income. First our adviser carried out a benefit check to establish if the client was in receipt of all the benefits she was entitled to, and to check the amounts were correct., which they were. General budgeting advice was given to the client, and we were able to issue the client with a fuel and food voucher along with details on how to apply for Discretionary Council Tax Reduction under Section 13A of the Local Government Finance Act 1992. We supplied the client with the information on how to apply for the Warm homes discount. Our adviser also referred our client to a local charity called “Community Embrace” for support with preparing food, and details about their food pantry scheme.

Outcome:

Food bank voucher was issued to the value of £60 Fuel Voucher was issued to the value of £79 The warm home discount was obtained, equates to £140 as a one-off payment. Following the advice and support from our adviser the client reduced her monthly outgoings by £100.00. The warm home discount was obtained, which resulted in a £140 one-off payment.
