Client Profile: Our client is single and lives in council accommodation. The client has recently been made redundant and is suffering from poor physical health.

Reason client needs advice: Our client was struggling financially and wanted to see if he was entitled to any help as he could no longer work due to his poor physical health, which was deteriorating.

What we have done to help the client: Our Benefit Adviser contacted the client to explore what help he would be entitled to. After discussion with the client about the options available to him, an application was made for ESA (Employment Support Allowance) and PIP (Personal Independent Payment). Our Benefit Adviser also carried out a Benefit check to ensure that he was receiving all the benefits that he should be entitled to.

Outcome:

Our client has confirmed that after Citizens Advice Harlow assisted with the PIP application, he was awarded the standard daily and mobility allowance. 

The client’s ESA application was also successful. 

PIP awarded at £4381 per annum. 

ESA awarded at £4004 per annum. 

Our client is better off by £8385 per year. 

The client stated how delighted he was with our service.
